My drawings are studies of abandoned shells tossed and broken in the tides. Every drawing seeks to emulate the shape and surface of each individual shell, with all of its imperfections and intricacies. I am attracted to the slightly ribbed surface of the shells outer walls in contrast to its smooth interior that dips and wraps around the center whorl. The dark pockets and jagged edges create what I can only describe as a landscape in which to move.
